ID-10089855When you’re looking for a way to bring new ideas to the business table, sometimes you don’t even have to leave the room to find it. The fact is that the best way to inspire yourself has everything to do with your perception and less to do with gathering information, facts, and statistics about your audience. Remember how the microwave was invented? It was a complete accident a scientist had when he walked by a macrowave machine with chocolate in his pocket. See if you can be inspired in simple ways, too.

Gather the Information, Then Allow Yourself to Be Inspired

Innovation and good ideas only come once you know the market you're researching fairly well. This usually includes extensive research into your target audience and how they use the media mediums they are presented with. Are they on Facebook? Twitter? Or are you targeting an older audience that doesn't interact digitally with the world? After you figure that out, you need to check out ideas that exist in the channels your audience uses. If your audience prefers print media, it wouldn't make sense to innovate within your social media platforms. Once you have your media and audience focus, you can move on to trying to recreate an idea to make it pop.

Reimagine Instead of Repurpose

If your company is in the habit of grabbing content from another blog, changing it slightly, and then reposting it on your own blog, you're in for a big surprise: it doesn't work. The Internet doesn't work that way, and it hasn't for a long time.  Instead of just repurposing another piece of writing or some other content, reimagine it. Use that piece of work for inspiration, and create an experience that is completely unique to your users. That creative pop will make or break the experience, and therefore the connectedness, for many of your potential customers.
